Trusty · The fine print
Privacy Policy
How Trusty handles your information. Short version: we collect as little as possible, and we never sell it. Draft pending review by counsel before launch.
1. What we collect
The business names and locations you ask us to look into; checkout details handled by our payment processor (we never see or store full card numbers); any messages you send us for support, a correction, or a deletion request; and basic, privacy-respecting site measurement (page views and performance) when analytics are enabled. We do not require an account to get a read.
2. How we use it
To produce the read you asked for, process your payment, answer your messages, keep the service secure and working, and understand in aggregate what's useful. That's it.
3. Who we share it with
Only the service providers that make the site work — a payment processor and, if enabled, an analytics provider — and only as needed. We may disclose information if required by law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not build or sell a private profile about you.
4. The reads are about businesses, not you
A Trusty read is based on public reviews and public information we reviewed about a business. It is commentary on a business's public record — not a dossier about you, the reader.
5. Your rights (CCPA / GDPR and similar)
You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop using your information, or to opt out of any sale (there is none). Email [email protected]. We verify identity-sensitive requests before acting, and we won't discriminate against you for exercising a right.
6. Retention and security
We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose above or as the law requires, and we use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No method is perfectly secure.
7. Children
Trusty is for adults making purchasing and trust decisions and is not directed to children under 18.
8. Changes and contact
We'll post any update here with its effective date. Questions: [email protected].
