Trusty · The fine print
Terms of Use
Plain-English terms for using Trusty. They are a draft pending review by counsel before public launch.
1. What Trusty is
Trusty reads the public record on a business — public reviews and public information we reviewed — and points to where the signs lead. What we publish is our informational opinion based on that public information. It is not a statement of fact about any business, not a guarantee, and not the final word. We are not the arbiter of truth, and we make no claim to be all-knowing. Trusty is not legal, financial, medical, safety, or other professional advice.
2. Do your own research
You are responsible for your own decisions. Our read is a starting point that saves you time — not a substitute for your own judgment. Always verify independently before you pay, sign, book, apply, or share sensitive information. Public information can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong, and we can be wrong too.
3. Independent and not affiliated
Trusty is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by the businesses, platforms, people, or organizations we look into. References to a business are for identification and commentary only.
4. No warranty
The service and every read are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trusty and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any decision you make based on a read. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the read at issue (or USD 100 if greater is not permitted to be limited).
6. Acceptable use
Use Trusty for your own personal, lawful decision-making. Do not scrape, resell, or republish our pages or reads, attempt to overload or abuse the service, or use it to harass any business or person.
7. Payments
Some reads and a membership are paid. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor; we do not store your card details. Prices are shown before purchase. If a paid read cannot be produced, we will not charge you, or we will refund it.
8. Corrections and takedown
If you believe a page is inaccurate, outdated, or should be removed, use the correction channel at /dispute/ or email [email protected]. We aim to acknowledge complete requests within five business days, and a published read can be corrected or unpublished on request. Copyright (DMCA) notices are handled through the same channel; our registered agent is listed on the correction page.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this page with its effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's home jurisdiction, to be specified on launch. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory local law.
